Michael
I just want to say thank you for the incredible time on The Last Mango Experience. And an Experience is what it was. I like any person who is lucky enough to participate in The Experience is no doubt a big Jimmy Buffett fan, but the opportunity to sit where he sat, fish where he fished, ate what he ate, and sit on that magnificent boat that was created out of his imagination was a next level and cathartic experience. Magical might be the best way to describe the feeling felt as soon I set foot on board the Last Mango.
And I can’t say enough about Captain Vinnie and Noah. This was not a fishing charter (although catching three 50# class Blue Fin tuna off feeding Humpback whales and a 45# class Striper was pretty epic), this was an opportunity to be on an iconic boat with truly genuine people who love what they do. An added bonus was to have little tidbits of information like where to go eat because it was one of Jimmy’s favorite places. This was another example of just how much of an Experience this was vs. a fishing charter, or time on Jimmy’s boat.
What I enjoyed the most and far exceeded my expectations was my time with Captain Vinnie. Vinnie made the Experience for me. I appreciated his openness in talking with me about his past, how he and Jimmy became connected, and the vision he had and the process of bringing The Last Mango to life. My conversations and time with him is how I would imagine being able to spend the day with Jimmy would be. It was clear in a very non-assuming way that Vinnie and Jimmy were very close and he did a great job of sharing stories, one-liners, and why Jimmy meant so much to him – and I appreciate that it must be hard at times for Vinnie to do this as I know he misses Jimmy maybe more than any of us.
So yes, we will make The Last Mango Experience an annual treat for us. The team is executing wonderfully on keeping Jimmy’s legacy and life ongoing and absolutely made it one of the best days of my life.
Thank you to Captain Vinnie, Noah, and Sarah for making this such a phenomenal Experience.

Just Wow!
Going into the trip I did this to support Michael as it was his dream and he is such a huge Jimmy Buffet fan and an avid fisherman. He told me all about The Last Mango and how it came to be. I love fishing but I could not say other than learning and hearing his music religiously from Michael, that I knew much about Jimmy Buffett. I am the planner of us both given my role as an event planner so I thrive in new places and learn where and what to do. I wanted to support him and make sure we had some reservations lined up in Sag Harbor for our trip.
As far as the fishing portion, I was nervous as I wasn't sure what to expect from the crew and knowing that Captain Vinnie was not only Jimmy's Captain but also his friend, I thought he may be stand-offish or just not a fan of having to talk about someone he just lost over and over. I was a bit scared we may be "one of those" tourists. Boy was I wrong on my initial thoughts!
The trip started the moment we got there and went to say “hello”; something I begged Michael not to do as I did not want to bother Vinnie. Vinnie immediately stopped to talk with us and introduce us to Noah. They were both were so kind and it immediately calmed my fears; now knowing who Jimmy Buffett would surround himself with, it's silly to think I thought it would be any other way.
Vinnie told us about some spots Jimmy would go to in town and my planner brain went into action to rearrange our reservations so we could do the same things Jimmy did and I knew this would mean the world to Michael. Off we went to our first Jimmy Buffett restaurant favs, in hindsight maybe drinking all the wine the night before an early fishing day was a bit much but we like to full throttle.
The next day was the trip and it was the most incredible experience. Stepping on the boat, you felt the magic, the energy and the love that was there. Captain Vinnie and Noah were fantastic and so caring. They helped make the trip special, they shared stories and talked and it was like we were making new friends. I learned so many things about Jimmy Buffett and who he was and what he was like and I could really feel his energy. Vinnie and Noah were just as excited as us when we would catch anything. I was thrilled when we pulled in a tuna that would feed us for days. I found myself emotional several times, overtaken by the happiness of Michael, having a great experience (actually, the best fishing experience I had ever gone on) and just learning about the legacy of Jimmy Buffett.
I walked away wanting to know more and now I am such a fan. We spent the rest of our vacation talking about him, exploring the places he went, and really just diving into the location and what it meant. We both said this is the top three (if not, the first) best trips we have ever done. I went from "This will be a once in a lifetime experience!" to "How can we not do this every year?!". I was worried originally that it was just us vs. bringing more people and now know it was so special because it was us and I love experiences we can share just us two.
Thank you for making us feel connected as a group, turning something, I thought was for Michael into an experience for me, and just giving some incredible memories. This was so much more than a fishing trip; this was truly an immersive experience. This experience made me a fan beyond Jimmy Buffett’s life and Last Mango is continuing to gain fans and that is the true definition of a legacy.
Captain Vinnie and Noah are truly a gem and I'm rooting for everything they do and anything The Last Mango is a part of. We will see you soon!
